Steps already taken and in the process of being taken.
1. To this end I have already investigated opportunities for exchange programs in Spain, am going on a school trip to Ecuador to attend among other things a language school. I have voiced my concern to my Spanish teacher and she is well aware of my position. She knows I am first on her list for any exchange programs either through the school or independently.
2. Travelling comes naturally to me and this should be the easiest point to satisfy. Come graduation I have already got several ideas for travel. I have friends in Borneo and would like to do a stint in the jungle to get it out of my system. Either in Borneo, which would help satisfy point no. 3, or in South or Central America which would help satisfy point no. 1.
3. This is possibly the hardest point to satisfy as there are no opportunities in school and the only thing I can think of is an internship or something of the like and that isn?t really my cup of tea. My only other idea is to either carry out my own investigation and write my own story (Pirates of Borneo) or tag along with someone else (???).
4. Working with some organization on relief or construction or something and embellishing my role could satisfy management capabilities.
5. This is also a tricky one to satisfy, although my living standard is fairly cost efficient. The best chance to make money like this fast and efficiently is either A) Moving to an understanding climate and entering the Marijuana growing-mail order business. B) Getting a job here in the United States. Or C) Upgrading my IT computer prowess and making money on website building jobs and the like which would satisfy point no.7. Or D) Highly unlikely, finding a job working AND travelling. Making money doing something involving travelling would be great.
6. Community service is important as scholarship material. This can be easily satisfied working in a volunteer organization for awhile which involves travelling.
7. I am already fairly IT capable but I need to seriously work on website building and getting contracts. Good friend Mark does this and if I worked closer with him I could get better at it and maybe even make some money.
8. University admission requirements are already being met. I need to have a 3.5 in a minimum of 3 AP classes. Already have an A last semester in AP US History and this semester is looking promising. The exam can?t be too much different. AP Spanish was a class I would have liked to do but as of now that is not an option. Perhaps if I do a Spanish exchange program next year I will be able to take some extra courses at the PGCC and take the exam. AP Government and AP Literature are the only two other classes I will be able to take and confidently achieve a 3.5 in. AP Lit I need teacher recommendation as I didn?t get the minimum B+ in it last semester. I am confident that Ms. Davidson will recommend me. Scholarships can be gained through good SAT scores, which I can do, good community service record, which I can do, or excellent GPA which I cant do so long as I?m taking Algebra.
